VIDAL is a post-punk-rooted act from Budapest, Hungary, blending a distinctive sonic identity with the spirit of ’70s and ’80s British music. The lyrics — sung in Hungarian — aim for raw, cliché-free self-expression, exploring personal struggles within a societal context, tackling taboo subjects, and offering satirical takes on everyday life.
The band evolved from a bedroom project into a trio and has been actively performing since 2024. They have shared the stage with acts such as John Maus, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, and Carson Coma. This year, they released two singles — Kékszakállú and Hüdra — with two more planned ahead of their second full-length album, scheduled for release in the fall. Their first music video was awarded Best Visuals at the 7th Hungarian Music Video Awards (Magyar Klipszemle).
