The Artisjus Award-winning Nagy Emma Quintet represents a new generation of modern, contemporary jazz. Now celebrating its sixth anniversary, the band has come a long way in a short time. In addition to numerous concerts in Hungary, they have performed at competitions and festivals in Italy, Poland, Spain, and Slovakia.

Despite their differences, they found a shared musical voice from day one. A key element in shaping their sound is a spirit of experimentation. Their compositions give equal weight to tight drum grooves, free improvisation, contemporary song structures, among others. This diversity is not self-serving — it serves the deeper goal of reaching the more profound layers of chamber-style music-making on stage.

Following their debut Set to Face (2018, self-released) and Low Frequency Oscillator (2020, Sinistra), their third album, Synced, was released in spring 2022 by the prestigious Swiss label Unit Records. The material was presented live in March at the newly opened House of Music Hungary, where producer Márton Fenyvesi and Kornél Fekete-Kovács joined the band as guest performers.
