Kadjavsi started in 2017, as a project that mainly focused on improvised ambiental piano soundscapes, recorded by Bucharest-based musician Nikita Dembinski. Some of these albums, such as “Breaks That Friend Your Heart” or “A Bounding Situation”, were released in cassette form, through independent local label Beach Buddies Records. Dembinski then later went further into producing and released his first single in 2021 called “Each Day”, where he debuts as a lyricist and vocalist too, shifting the style of the project by making his first alternative pop song.
In 2022, “Second Sun”, the project’s first LP album was released. Written, composed and produced by Dembinski and co-produced by fellow guitarist Luca Calaras, the 9 songs that made the album were regarded as one of the most promising pop-rock songs in the underground alternative music scene in Bucharest. In 2025, Dembinski is working on his second album, called “Above Albatross”. Two of the songs from this album were already released in April, “True Defective” and “Above Albatross feat. Lucia”
